China promotes sales of plastic presses
Source:admin  Popularity:2273  Release time:2019-03-16
As early as 1990, the global sales volume of injection molding machines was 33,000 units. In 2013, the global sales volume of injection molding machines reached 86,500 units, an increase of 250%.
This huge increase reflects the popularity of plastic materials to a certain extent. Let's compare the amount of PET bottles used at the time and in today's society, or the amount of plastic used in cars.
In the past 25 years, plastic presses accounted for half of the world's plastic presses.
But from some key metrics, the biggest reason for the huge leap in the global plastics industry is the emergence of Asian manufacturing. Originally China and other major Asian producers became world factories, and now the consumption strata in emerging regions are growing.
There is one key figure: The annual sales of plastic presses in the world are now 53,000 more than 25 years ago, and about 90% of the increase (ie 48,000 injection molding machines) comes from emerging markets in Asia.
China promotes growth
The simplest answer is that, as the numbers show, globalization has brought growth. Globally, the size of the plastics industry is now several times larger than it was 25 years ago. But globalization brings growth as part of the story. Through digital analysis, we can see a significant shift in manufacturing centers to Asia. China has a major share. The annual consumption of injection molding machines in China has increased from 4,000 in 1990 to 42,000 in 2013, accounting for half of the global total. Sales in other Asian countries (including Japan, India and Southeast Asia) increased from 11,500 units per year to 2,1,500 units. The sales figures for these injection molding machines come from ENGEL, Austria, which is the world's largest manufacturer of injection molding machines in terms of turnover. Injection molding machine is the largest segment of the plastics machine market, said Mike Walter, president of the American Plastics Processing Enterprise Association, based in Indianapolis, USA. For some small and medium-sized plastics processing companies in the United States, the rise of Asia is extremely destructive. .
European and American markets remain stable
Although the injection molding machine market in Asia is in full swing, ENGEL's statistics show that the European and American markets have maintained a small increase in the past 25 years.
For companies that have the ability to expand globally, opportunities exist. ENGEL said it has a large share of the Asian market. The company said it had less than 5% of its share in the Asian market in 2004, but after building factories in South Korea and China, the company's Asian market share has increased to 10% this year. Chief Sales Officer Christoph Steger said 25 years ago Companies that are not targets have now become big customers. Of course, companies in emerging countries also have their own pressure on the global market.
China's injection molding machine manufacturer Guangdong Yizhimi Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. acquired the assets of the bankrupt American plastic machine and HPM in 2011 as one of its initiatives to open up the global market. Yi Zhimi’s CEO, Rong Ronghui, said that he believes that HPM’s focus on the local market and no active global expansion is one of the mistakes that led to the bankruptcy of this 135-year-old company. Yi Zhi Mi does not want to repeat the same mistakes. He said: We hope to achieve globalization and avoid the same problems.
The next 25 years
It is clear that after the changes of the past 25 years (China's accession to the WTO, the reunification of the two Germanys, the rise of multinational corporations and the frequent occurrence of various economic crises), the global development of the plastics industry has become an important part of growth.
This is also one of the challenges
According to a survey released by the US Manufacturing Productivity and Innovation Alliance in October, global competitive pressure is the root cause of the "new industrial revolution," including the creation of anthropomorphic robots, 3D printing, and more efficient supply chains.
